Featured Literary Artists
           - Thefollowing section is basically an e-blurb featuring Woodstock's Writers involved in the Literary Scene here in Woodstock

One Of WAVElinks' featured Literary Artists:
One of WAVElinks' Featured Artist is: Tad Wise
- Social Historian, Journalist, Novelist,

as well as Musician - Singer/Songwriter Extraordaire

Tad Wise grew up in Woodstock and has been part of the Arts Scene here for nearly all his life. He has performed his original songs for the public in many different venues, and has a unique style of singing and playing with effortless expertise that speaks of a mixture of years of experience coupled with human-ness. Hints of influences like Jimmy Hendrix, James Taylor and Van Morrison come out through the many different modes of his style, although he really doesn't sound like any of them, but more like himself than just about anyone else I know in the music business. His songs reflect deep lyrical content and subtle but constant thoughtfullness, making the listener think about what is being sung in his lyrics, think about their own lives, and how they've been affected or how they've affected others. They go straight to your heart, especially in the more gentle love songs that he writes. He is definitely what I would call a world-class writer.
But I'm not here to talk about his songwriting ability, nor his songs, for that matter, of which mostly all are beautiful, along with some robust rockers as well. This is the Literary Artists' Page, so I'm here to say that Tad Wise, among his many other accomplishments, is also a Social Historian, Journalist, and Novelist, and has written among other things a dramatic biographic novel called "Tesla". The work is about the life and times of Tesla, "the world's greatest inventor" (according to Tad - and I agree).
Tad says about Tesla that he "was perhaps the greatest scientist of all time; blackballed by Edison, J. P. Morgan and Marconi, he was the true Inventor of Radio, (although someone else got the credit), and was the inventor of the AC power Grid upon which modern technology and all of the electric conveniences of modern civilization are based." The book gets into Tesla's personal life and also covers his major inventions. The book was hailed by Arthur C. Clark (the greatest living Sci-Fi writer) as a "Marvelous Job". Although the book is out of print, it can be checked out at the Woodstock Library anytime.
A brand new major work of Tad's came out in 1999: Tad's collaboration with world famous Buddhist Scholar Robert Thurman "Circling The Sacred Mountains". This new book details a 1995 pilgrimage made by Thurman and Wise circum-ambulating Mt. Kailash in most remote Western Tibet. The Sub-Title of the book is "A Spiritual Adventure Through The Himalayas". This new masterpiece was in Bookstores in New York State (and the rest of the USA) on the projected release date of March 3rd, 1999. The Woodstock Times alsoreleased a notice of the Book-Signing Party at the Golden Notebook in Woodstock sometime in the month of March, 1999, where they are still selling this great book "Circling The Sacred Mountains - a Spiritual Journey Through the Himalayas".
