Emmaretta Marks

Emmaretta Marks, who is also one of the Writers of Original Songs for Mambo Daddy Disk, has performed with many famous acts over the past 35 years. To begin with, in the 60's, Emmaretta was in the Original Cast of the Broadway Production of HAIR, and also toured with their first National Tour. She worked with and sang back-up for such reknown acts as Jimi Hendrix, Emmerson Lake and Palmer, Ike and Tina Turner, The Blues Project, Gary Wright, Levon Helm and the RCO All-Stars, and sang on the Rolling Stones' recording of "Gimme Shelter". She was also the lead singer for many other bands from the sixties until today.
She was also the lead singer during the sixties and seventies for Doug Jacobs' Wild Fire Band, and the Woodstock-based band Otis Elevator, and also was the lead singer for the original formation of the World Beat Band Mambo Daddy,in Woodstock, NY. She has written many beautiful balads, and also R&B and Funky Dance numbers, such as "Liberated Woman" (along with co-writer George Leary - Executive Producer - Lester Figarsky). And when it comes to jazz, she can croon out a tune along side the rest of the best. Her latest release is the CD "Looking Back In Time", recorded at the following studios in Upstate New York: NRS Studio, Dreamland Studio, Applehead Studio, Vinnie Martucci's Studio and Paul Brannen's Studio, and also in Manhatten at the Greg Arnold Studio.

Pete Rose

Interview

"I wrote the "Mad Cow Blues" on Christmas Night, 2003, after our annual performance at the Woodstock Community Christmas Celebration. I was taken aghast to learn that Dr.Longmore was arrested earlier that Christmas Morning.
This song release was purposely held back until now, so as not to rile the political and medical establishment. The Doc's license was reinstated by the OPMC shortly before 2006."

"Welcome Home, Doc!"
- Pete Rose

"Mad Cow Blues" was just released in 2006 on Mambo Daddy Disc Label. Written by Pete Rose, the "Mad Cow Blues" presents a rich background flavour of R-&-B featuring the Lead Vocals and Guitar Playing of Pete Rose.
The tunes are performed by a really fine cast of players, including:

  • Mike Colletti - Bass
  • George Leary - Drums
  • Sredni Vollmer - Harmonica
  • John Scott - Guitar
